“I’ve watched you sleep, I’ve kissed you a million times and I know something you don’t yet;
You are writing the story of your only life, every single minute of every day.
And my greatest hope for you sweet child is I can teach you how to write a good one.”

A Grandfather is Someone With Silver in his Hair and Gold in his Heart

Pa-pa [pah-puh, puh-pah]
noun
1. The greatest man alive
2. A mentor
3. A hero; plain and simple

I like to walk with Grandpa,
His steps are short like mine.
He doesn't say "Now Hurry Up,"
He always takes his time.
I like to walk with Grandpa,
His eyes sees  things like mine do -
Wee pebbles bright, a funny cloud,
Half hidden drops of dew.
Most people have to hurry,
They don't stop and see.
I'm glad that God made Grandpa,
Unrushed, and young like me.
Gabi,

Anyone can see how much you adore your Papa, and anyone can see why you would. Growing up, I was daddy's little girl and it warms my heart to see you adore him the same as me. There are not too many people in this world that are quite like him. He's caring, understanding, wise, and the best listener you could ever ask for. If you can take anything away from life, it will be the lessons that he teaches you that I hope you cherish most. He might not tell them to you, but I hope you can someday see everything he's tried to teach you. He is the best dad I could have ever wished for and an even better papa...lucky you! I'll never forget how often he came to the hospital when you were born (and would NEVER leave, mind you) and I'm sure he was the proudest grandpa one would ever see. When you were a cryin' little baby in the middle of the night, I would wake up to tend to you only to find papa had already changed your diaper and had a bottle ready for you to eat (God bless him). When you started talking, he sat with you in the rocking chair until you'd fall asleep, but not before he would help you sing the alphabet, count as high as you could and recite as many state capitals as your spongey brain could take. It is because of him that you are the little girl you have grown to be, and I hope it is he who influences you to be the woman you are meant to be...I know you will have many memories of him as you grow up, hold them dear to your heart because there will be no one that will ever replace them.
